7 Days In, What Do I Think

Two days. But I will say, that’s nothing to do with the reset, I felt that way from the moment I got up. Maybe it was the mental energy expended to get the site up. Maybe it was a bug. Maybe it was something else. Regardless, I started my reset with lethargy.
That was not the plan.
I stuck to the plan, though. Like a fly on shit I wasn’t getting off of this one. It was built to be a gentle reset, not a killer burst that can’t be maintained. So I followed it, adding small bits and pieces here and there, building each day. The lethargy continued. I dragged myself through day one, day two, day three and day four. I say dragged myself through, but the reality is that whether I was doing the reset or not, I was likely going to feel that drop in energy. As I think back it started two or three days before I started.
I stuck to it because it was designed to be stuck to. Four days of “ugh”.
And then on day 5 something happened. It lifted. I felt normal, or my normal anyway. Back to me pre-reset baseline. This was a relief, I mean I’m testing my own design of reset. Now, after 4 days of meh, I could really measure its potential. I was going to see it through, even if I was still at my standing still point. Rather than quit, do the last couple of days and then repeat the process. Don’t add anything.
Not for the last two days, and not for the next seven days.
Just start again, at a more normal baseline.
Then something else happened. I got up on day 6 and I felt…a little more than. I had a little bit in the tank. Not a huge difference, but a noticeable difference. I hadn’t climbed my first cliff face, but I’d scrambled up a few feet. Not only did I physically feel a bit brighter, but mood wise I felt a bit more positive. Enough to give me a boost I’ve missed for a while. Day 7 however was a different story.
Actually, was it fuck.
Day 7 was a step up on day 6. Maybe just enough for me to do again a little more. Not a little more on the reset, but in life. The energy to get a few things done I’ve wanted to do for a while. Not all finished, but started with intent. The test will now be this week. I am going to follow the framework of the reset again this week, as my minimum standard. But I’m going to add some more. Ride the wave, make a difference and take advantage of the positivity. If the knife dulls again this week, the reset is my minimum level.
The little spark gives me a boost. It gives me hope that I’ve found a good starting point in the 7-day reset. Time will tell if it’s all coincidence, but it does me no harm in continuing. It’s a low bar to start, eminently doable.
I guess I should add that that positivity came last week from you as well. The response to my site is beyond what I could have hoped for, especially considering the launch was limited to the set-up I have. No additional cool social media content, no advertising. Just launching to those that know me already. Almost 150 views. Now I know that’s nowhere near as many as Pornhub. But we’ll get there.
So thank you for visiting, reading and hopefully you’ve seen enough to want to come back. Let’s see what the next 7 days throws at me.
Bring it on motherfuckers.
